February Favorites 2018

I cannot believe another month has flown by for me to write another monthly favorites post! It feels like yesterday that I was celebrating the New Year and now the end of the second month for 2018 is coming to an end. On a more positive note, I have tried great products this month that I thought I would share with you- enjoy!

I recently went to see Black Panther with my boyfriend and my goodness it is the best Marvel movie ever! Before going, I was skeptical about the movie since I am a die-hard Iron Man fan and in my mind, nothing could ever beat those movies. Dang was I wrong, Black Panther had every type of quality that you would want in a movie! It had romance, action, betrayal between two groups who were once allies, and a few humorous moments here and there which made the movie even more special. Black Panther was exciting, exhilarating, and above all breathtaking. I could not recommend this movie enough and if you are considering this as a movie on your watchlist, I would move it to the top priority- you will definitely NOT regret it!

Living an Inspired Life By Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

book (7 of 7)
Okay, I will admit that this book was in my last favorites post but I wanted to include it in February’s post because it is such an amazing book. Back when I said I loved reading this book in January, I didn’t really get into the deep topics that Mr. Dyer covers. This month I made it a priority to read at least 3 chapters a week, during this time I started to really grasp what Dyer was trying to convey to his audience about inspiration. He provides such real-life examples in his book that I can relate to on a personal level. Every time I finish a chapter, I feel more inspired than I did the day before. If you are someone who is looking for a book to help gain back some of your inspiration for your passions, I HIGHLY recommend this book- you won’t be disappointed after reading all that Mr. Dyer has to say about living an inspired life.

perfume (1 of 1)
Recently I have been coming back to this perfume and I do not know why I ever stopped using it. Back in my senior of high school, this was my go-to scent and then when I got to college I thought I should try something different so I bought a Victoria’s secret perfume to spice things up a bit. Honestly, I don’t know why I did that because the Juicy perfume is 10x better than the one I had from Victoria’s secret. In my opinion, the smell reminds of something floral with a touch of sophistication. I would definitely try it if you haven’t yet, I think you can get a small sample at Ulta in their perfume section if you want to try out a smaller size first.

Victoria’s Secret PINK Warm & Cozy Body Mist

Body spray (1 of 1)
While the perfume at Victoria’s Secret is not my cup of tea, this body mist made by PINK smells heavenly! I love wearing on casual days when I don’t want to break out my expensive perfume. On the back of the packaging, the smell is described as toasted vanilla and peony with a subtle hint of aloe. I can’t smell the aloe in it but it does smell mostly like vanilla with a touch of peony. I have gotten dozens of compliments on this body mist all throughout high school and even now that I am in my sophomore year of college- I still get questions on what scent I am wearing!

So this is my first time ever watching The Bachelor and Holy Guac. I cannot believe how obsessed I have become with it. Maybe it’s just this season that’s been really juicy but I get so excited for Monday nights now! Although the season is coming to an end and I am still recovering from my heartbreak when Tia got sent home (I actually sobbed), I have loved this show and all of the funny moments that happen either between the girls or the girls and Arie. If you are skeptical about watching this show, trust me I was with you, but definitely, try to watch this season if you can because it has been a great season to watch.

Eyebrow (1 of 1).jpg
When it comes to makeup, I absolutely despise doing my eyebrows. Every day it is a constant struggle to try and get those little boogers in place. Over my Christmas break, my mom got this benefit Browvo! Primer for me to try out since she knows how much of a pain my eyebrows are to me. I wasn’t too wild on trying this product because I didn’t think it was going to do much to help my little demons on my face. To my dismay, I was pleasantly surprised at how much my eyebrows stayed in place after using this primer. My eyebrows also looked fuller since parts of my eyebrows have patches while other parts are completely covered with hair. This product actually made my eyebrows look semi-even and then when I went to fill them in they looked like normal eyebrows! Although I still have a hard time with my eyebrows on some days, this primer has minimized the amount of time I take to do my eyebrows every morning and it helps them to look fuller in the areas that don’t have as much hair.

foundation (1 of 1)
I just wanted to throw this one in here since I have been trying it out for the whole month of February. This foundation is a great foundation and it does have excellent coverage, however, the only complaint that I do have is it feels quite heavy on my face after wearing it for long periods of time. I really wanted to try a different foundation this month just to switch things up a bit and I do love the coverage and it looks great in photos as well! Overall, a good foundation but for me, after about 5 hours it starts to feel very cakey and heavy on my face.

lotion (1 of 1)
I don’t know about you, but when it gets cold outside- my skin becomes a gravel road. Even if I moisturize every day with a normal daily lotion, the minute the weather hits below 65 degrees my skin is like oh heck nah we don’t like this and then my elbows and knees become a place where a cactus could grow. But since using this body butter, my skin has actually stayed moisturized through most of the winter. Now I will say that I had to use this religiously day and night so if you are someone who does get super dry skin during the winter and want to try this, make sure you use it religiously as well. I can’t say enough good things about this product, plus the body butter smells amazing and I always feel a sugar cookie after putting it.

Cookies (1 of 1)
I have rediscovered my love for Snickerdoodle cookies and my goodness these Trader Joe’s cookies satisfy my current obsession. These cookies are gooey, they melt in your mouth, and above all, they have a ton of cinnamon flavor which is a huge factor to me when it comes to making snickerdoodles. I can’t describe anything better than these, plus they are gluten-free and vegan so for those of you who follow either of those diets- you can enjoy these too!

Coffee (1 of 1)
If you haven’t tried this coffee then I really don’t know what you are doing with your life. My sister, introduced me to Peet’s a few years ago and I used to drink it ALL the time in high school but then I stopped buying it (I don’t know what possessed me to do that) and I started drinking other types of coffee. This month though I remembered how much I loved this brand and purchased this Big Bang flavor. I do not know how I bought other coffees over this one because Peet’s coffee has a strong and bold flavor but it is also extremely smooth. Trust me when I say this will be the best coffee you have bought in your entire life.
And there ya have it! Another month goes by and I have found some amazing new favorites that I am thrilled to share! As always, I hope everything in your life is going well and don’t forget to check back in soon for more blog posts!
